Giving or leaving personal property by will may sound like a tedious task, but in reality all it takes is a little language change to get you on the right path. Want to be generous to both your family and charity? The FHSU Gift Planning website shows you a simple way of creating the language neccesary to bequeath your property. Read this story to find out how!
Planning your will wisely can be a very a tedious task, but in the end, it is worth every minute. After your passing, if you have never created or validated a will, your estate is left to be distributed by attorneys, executors, judges, and state law. This process is known as probate. The probate process is an organized method to gather all of the property of the individual, pay all of his or her bills, determine the appropriate beneficiaries to receive the property and make the actual transfer. Probate can take years to fully process and creates more stress on your beneficiaries, families, and eventually will decrease the amount of your estate. Check out the “Personal Plan” guide on the FHSU Foundation – Planned Giving website to learn more about avoiding probate and securing your estate.
